GO West Contra Costa and The Richmond Promise have teamed up again to release an updated version of Parents’ Guide to Financial Aid, a resource that provides in-depth information on how to help pay for graduate education using the Free Federal Student Assistance App (FAFSA) and the California Dream Act App (CADAA).

“Asking for financial aid is a crucial part of the college journey, and it’s also one of the biggest barriers for families,” said Miguel Molina, associate director of programs at The Richmond Promise. “There is a lack of easily accessible information for families, but Parents’ Guide to Financial Aid will help close this gap.

This year’s guide also includes updates on new legislation affecting financial aid eligibility, more information on Cal Grants, the largest state-administered financial aid program in California, and a new tool to help families have early, honest conversations about the cost of college.

Parents’ Guide to Financial Aid is available for download in English and Spanish.

GO West Contra Costa and The Richmond Promise host a virtual information session on financial assistance for families at Wednesday November 10 at 6 p.m.. To access this session, visit GO West Contra Costa Instagram page Where The Richmond Promise Instagram page.
