Parents Discuss School Safety at Final Board Meeting | New

Four parents from districts around Arkansas shared their concerns, offered advice and answered questions from the state School Safety Commission during the group’s meeting at the State Capitol on Tuesday.

Commission members met just a month before submitting their final report to Governor Asa Hutchinson in October. Chair Cheryl May, who is also director of the University of Arkansas Institute of Criminal Justice, told fellow commission members that it was time to start putting together the findings for the final report. The members have already submitted an interim report on their findings to the governor in early August.
