I recently listened to citizen feedback that took place at a board of oversight meeting and was appalled at the disrespect and anger that some stakeholders expressed towards some board members. It was definitely a stacked game. Where are the models? Shame!
It is very offensive when teachers, parents and students verbally abuse elected officials in a way that will embarrass them and their efforts to resolve differences. Yet they seek more money through their turbulent emotions and provocative lyrics. Shame!
These scriptures come to mind when I was listening to “A soft answer diverts anger but harsh words stir up anger.” (Proverbs 15:1) The Word says “they are not ashamed nor even ashamed of their ways”. (Jeremiah 6:15)
One speaker in particular went so far as to quote scripture itself – Proverbs 6:16-19 to be used as character libel to mock a council member. She should read Proverbs 3:7 and Romans 1:22 and pay attention to their meaning. Shame!
Now, in closing, I say this: in the name of the Lord, give me or the best shot! Amen! But remember, by your words you will be justified and by your words you will be condemned. (Matthew 12:37)
