A few words from RPS Superintendent Dr. Susie Da Silva
School board meeting
We will be holding a School Board meeting on Monday, May 23. We remind you that even if you can watch the meeting from home (link here), all public comments must be made in person (you can comment at the beginning or end of the meeting.) You can find the agenda here.
Scotland Elementary School was our first elementary school to celebrate student art this spring. Parents and students strolled through multiple exhibits around the school, while listening to classical music and eating ice cream. At the end of the Art Walk, families were able to visit the school’s Book Fair.
NEW RPS FOUND here!
In this week’s podcast, we welcome Lori Bran and Stacy Marchionni; both are school counselors at Ridgefield High School and run the senior internship program. We discover the history of more than 20 years of the program; the many types of internships that our students can do; how the community welcomes these students; and the incredible skills they learn for the real world. Thanks for listening!
Registration for RPS kindergarten
To help! If you have a friend or neighbor who is planning to join kindergarten next year, remind them that registration is open! Families now have the option to register through our brand new online system. Click on here to take a look! Enrollment status affects our ability to retain and/or hire teachers.

Workshop for parents on how to support summer learning

Health and security
During this time of increasing cases, we strongly encourage families to get tested. We have a large supply of rapid home antigen tests in every school nurse’s office. Please contact your school building or school nurse for a test kit. Families can also consider having their child wear a high-quality mask as an additional mitigation measure.
As a reminder for families, students and staff- anyone with symptoms of COVID-19 should stay home and not go to school and contact your school nurse. When you return to school, remember to provide either a negative COVID-19 test result or a note from your doctor indicating a diagnosis other than COVID-19. For home test results, please take a photo of the test with the name and date taken and send it to your school nurse.
